Bloomberg expands equity indices range

By Lucy Carter.

Bloomberg has launched fixed-count domestic indices, expanding its range of equity indices. The set of regional and country indices rank and group eligible companies, based on their issuer free-float market capitalisation ranks, the company says.

Bloomberg Equity Indices are a complete set of global families covering more than 99% of the eligible free float market cap across 48 developed and emerging countries. They are available in global, regional, country and sector exposures, and across currencies and returns.

More than 50 benchmarks are included in this latest addition to Bloomberg’s indices offering, covering price, total and net returns across a number of countries including the UK, France, Switzerland, Australia and Canada.

The indices can meet varied investor needs, the company says, with the ability to measure market performance of any size segment for any given country or region.
