Ecker swaps Citi for Stifel

Stifel has appointed Martina Ecker as a managing director within the investment banking division.

Based in Frankfurt, Ecker will advise on transactions around the European clean energy transition and the overall industrial technology sector.

Stifel reported US$6.5 million in investment banking revenues in Q3 2025, up 5% year-on-year.

On her appointment, Ecker commented, “The path to the energy transition has not always been a smooth one in recent years. But the market is maturing and this year, we will see investor interest returning to the core sub-verticals. Success in 2026 requires the ability to navigate a market that is both invigorated and structurally more complex.”

Phil McCreanor, European head of diversified industries, added, “The convergence of technology in the industrial sector, combined with the challenges of the transition to clean energies, are core thematics for the European market.”

Ecker has more than 25 years of industry experience and joins Stifel from Citi, where she has been a managing director on the EMEA clean energy transition team since 2022.

Prior to this, she was a managing director covering technology and industrial technology at advisory firm Goetzpartners and led the technology and clean energy team as a managing director at investment banking advisor Lincoln International.

Her career has also included roles at Jefferies International and KPMG.
