SmartStream names Akber Jaffer as new CEO

SmartStream has named Akber Jaffer as its new CEO, succeeding Haytham Kaddoura.

Jaffer has held senior leadership positions at Finastra and Colt Technology Services. At Finastra, Jaffer left the firm in 2022 as executive vice president, treasury and capital markets, software, while at Colt he was chief strategy officer (CSO) and chief of staff between 2015 and 2017.

SmartStream chair of the board Khalifa AlDaboos said: “We warmly welcome Akber Jaffer as our new SmartStream CEO. He brings a distinguished career in financial services and software to our organisation. His wide-ranging experience and track record of success make him ideally suited to lead SmartStream. Haytham Kaddoura, who was CEO since 2016 and is now an advisor and board director, said: “We are confident that Akber is the right leader to take SmartStream to new heights. His extensive experience and vision align perfectly with the company’s mission and he will drive the development of new technologies to meet the demands of the industry.”
