TNS keeps up APAC momentum with Mehmet hire

Levent Mehmet has joined Transaction Network Services (TNS) as APAC managing director, continuing the firm’s expansion in the region.

Mehmet will lead teams in Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore, where he is based, while supporting clients across the wider APAC region.

TNS expanded its connectivity to Japanese exchanges last year in a bid to strengthen its APAC presence, which it stated as a key priority.

On the appointment, Mehmet commented, “The expansion of overnight trading in the US illustrates how quickly global markets are evolving. With liquidity spread across multiple venues, access and optionality have become critical.

“By continually adding these venues to our network, TNS ensures clients can capture opportunities as they emerge, whether that means trading US equities during Asian hours or broadening their market reach. My focus will be on scaling that success across the region.”

Mehmet has more than 25 years of industry experience and joins TNS from ICE Data Services, where he was most recently APAC head of sales. Earlier in his career, Mehmet was a sales executive at Bloomberg and Telekurs Financial, part of SIX.
