TXSE appoints former SEC head of trading and markets

David Saltiel, former acting director of the SEC’s division of trading and markets, has joined the TXSE as senior managing director of firmwide strategy.

The challenger exchange is currently waiting on approval after filing its Form 1 registration with the SEC.

Saltiel departed the SEC on 4 July, after a decade’s tenure with the regulator. In addition to his work in the division of trading and markets, he also held roles in the office of analytics and research.

Prior to this, Saltiel was chief economist at the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board and the US Department of the Treasury.

Earlier this year, TXSE announced a string of senior hires poached from rival exchanges.
