Alternative trading system BIDS Trading has appointed Brian Hickey as senior director of product.
In the Boston-based role, Hickey will identify market opportunities, lead the strategic direction of product lines and develop tailored solutions for clients.
Hickey has more than 25 years of industry experience, most recently serving as head of product at trading solutions firm LedgerEdge. Prior to this, he spent almost 14 years at State Street Global Advisors in a number of senior roles including vice president, senior alternatives trader and, most latterly, head of cross-asset electronic trading.
Earlier in his career, Hickey was a consultant at SS&C Technologies and an international equity trader at Putnam Investments.
BIDS Trading, which specialises in block trading, was acquired by Cboe in 2020. It has since expanded into Canada, Australia and Japan, building on its presence in the US and Europe.
